Basically, this is the world without architecture. Subjects may very, but the focus is always on color, contrast, and light. Painting in New Mexico provides endless opportunities to explore; from sunsets, to mountain rivers, or a simple desert flower. The nature of the light creates limitless occasions for expression. For me, these paintings are a diversion.
